In a bid to continue excelling in the global market, DOD has placed mechanisms that help recognize challenges and then find innovative solutions for them so that it can remain a leading company globally. Some of the biggest challenges that the organization is likel y to face includes technological advancement, uncertainty, globalization, complexity, information overload and supply chains.The pace at which technology improves is extremely fast and this may handicap capital investment because competitors may actually wait for the next technology generation to outdo the business. This constant change in technology will pose a great challenge to the organization. However, at DOD we will prevent this problem by developing a long term technology strategy but also trying to remain flexible enough to be able to take advantage of the unforeseen developments in technology.Another great challenge is the ability to understand foreign culture. This is a great challenge because it is through globalization that the organization is able to penetrate any new market with the existing products and services, design new services and products for new customers and recognize emerging and disruptive competitors that were not known. The organization will try to better understand international cultures and markets by better analysis and better information gathering.Currently, information is growing faster or changing more than any other thing because every day more than 2.4 quintillion bytes of the data are created. A nearly insurmountable challenge faced to be faced by the organization is the ability to consume and then make sense of the available information so that good decisions can be made.
